Regent Land & Developments is delighted to announce that it has completed contracts for the purchase of a prime site for a prestigious new waterside development in Wembley.
The Boat PH, on the banks of the Grand Union Canal and two minutes from Alperton tube station, will feature over 100 high quality private apartments and affordable housing over 19 floors, as well as a new bar and restaurant on the ground floor.
The plans also include generous amenity areas, with communal winter gardens, private balconies and a spectacular triple-height ‘sky court’ with spectacular views over London.
The site, which is currently occupied by The Boat Pub and Hotel on Ealing Road (above right), is being developed by Regent Land & Developments after six months of negotiation with Heineken, who will operate the new bar and restaurant (left).
Managing Director Pat Maher, says this is the firm’s biggest project to date: “The Boat has huge potential to be a landmark development in an area which is set to undergo considerable growth. I am delighted that we have now completed on the contract to buy the site and we hope to submit our plans to Brent Council in the near future.”
The proposed development will utilise high quality materials throughout, and falls within the criteria for the London Plan and the local Alperton Masterplan, which has identified the canal site as suitable for new homes.
The one, two and three bedroom family homes, will include affordable housing on the first four floors, consisting of a mix of social rented housing and shared ownership. The building will also feature disabled parking spaces and cycle storage facilities. On the ground floor the new bar and restaurant, operated by the brewing company Heineken, will front onto a landscaped canal side amenity space.
Adjacent properties already vary between four and 16 storeys and Brent planners are currently considering other proposals for nearby developments which are well in excess of 19 storeys.
