Our site at 5-9 Surrey Street in Croydon presented an opportunity to redevelop an under-utilised area in a key central location. The existing property was tired, no longer fit for purpose, and sat largely vacant.

In February 2018 we submitted a detailed planning application for the design for the new site, now named Beamhouse Yard – an architecturally rich and robust building that responds to the existing character of Surrey Street.

Planning permission was unanimously granted by Croydon’s planning committee in February 2019 and a year later in February 2020 we were pleased to see the completion of the site.

It is set to be home to 60 residential units, a new public realm space and 6000 sq. ft of flexible commercial space. We partnered with PA Housing are set to deliver a fantastic affordable homes scheme, which will regenerate this historic market location.
