At Regent, we are passionate about giving back, and we also love our local area, which is why we try to support as many local events and organisations throughout the year as we can! We take a look back at some of the highlights of our charity activity in 2019.
London Mozart Players
This year we have continued our sponsorship of the fantastic London Mozart Players, which means we’ve been lucky enough to also catch them performing a number of times – including at the Croydon Arts Ball in September and a beautiful intimate concert at the Austrian Embassy in June.
Haven House
We were thrilled to sponsor and attend a special ’60 minutes live’ event with Lord Alan Sugar to raise money for Haven House children’s hospice in June.
Tzedeck
In May, we were pleased to attend a charity lunch fundraiser at the House of Lords in support of Tzedek, who work to increase educational opportunities and reduce extreme poverty in some of the poorest regions of the world. The event raised an amazing £57,000 for the charity.
Croydon Food Festival
June was a busy month for us as we also sponsored the community stage at the Croydon Food Festival – a local outdoor event with street food, al fresco dining, live music and entertainment. A record 13,000 people attended the event and it was a great day!
Croydon Pride
We were pleased to be able to sponsor this year’s Croydon PrideFest – the second largest Pride parade in London – which took place on 13th July at Wandle Park.
Fairfield Halls Refurbishment
The refurbishment of Croydon’s prime arts venue, Fairfield Halls, was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated events in the local community this year. We were pleased to play our part by sponsoring the Croydon Arts Ball, which was one of the opening week’s events to celebrate the re-opening in September. Read more about our involvement here.
Croydon Business Awards
We were delighted to be involved in celebrating the successes of our fellow local businesses at this year’s Croydon Business Awards. We were pleased to not only sponsor the Night-Time Economy Award, but to also be involved in the judging process to pick the winner! Read more about our glamorous evening at the awards ceremony here.
Develop Croydon
We were proud to sponsor the mobile app for Develop Croydon at their 10th annual conference in November. The event took place at the newly refurbished Fairfield Halls and celebrated the borough’s transformation over the past 10 years and how the regeneration is set to take shape over the next decade.
