Go2Games wins ‘Community Collaboration in Response to Covid-19’ category at Croydon Business Resilience Awards

Earlier this year we were pleased to announce that Regent Land would be sponsoring the Croydon Business Resilience Awards. Formerly, the Croydon Business Awards, the event was rebranded to celebrate the resilience and success of Croydon’s businesses over the last 12 months. We were delighted to be sponsors of the Community Collaboration in Response to Covid-19 category, recognising the businesses who made a real difference and showed exceptional support to the local community throughout the pandemic.

This year’s winners were chosen by the public, with people invited to submit their nominations and then vote from a shortlist. The shortlisted businesses in our category included: All Inclusive, Croydon Eats, Ethical Stationery, Mr Fox, Revivify CIC, Surrey Physio, Art & Craft Valley, East Croydon Cool, Go2Games, Musical Bumps, Purley BID and Croydon Mind.

The awards ceremony was held virtually on 23rd September, where Regent Land’s Grace Roarty, revealed the worthy winner as Go2Games!

Multiple lockdowns throughout the pandemic saw education, healthcare, community groups, charities and other essential services forced to move their activities online. Go2Games recognised that this posed a problem for some people, who did not have the technology required to allow them to access the services they needed. In collaboration with Croydon Commitment, they started the Keep Croydon Connected campaign to collect donations of laptops, mobiles and tablets, and distribute them to schools, charities and community groups in the local area. Many devices were donated and made the world of difference to a huge number of people across the borough, including isolated elderly people, young people requiring counselling, and school children.

The Regent team would like to wish a huge congratulations to the Go2Games team, and to Musical Bumps and Purley BID, who were awarded Highly Commended and Commended in this category. We also want to say a big thank you to all the nominees for going above and beyond to support the local community during such a difficult period.
