Pat Maher, Founder and CEO
Regent Land’s Founder and CEO, Pat Maher, has over 40 years’ experience working in construction across design and build, land and development.
Pat had an interest in construction from a young age, which led him to study Building at South Bank Polytechnic. At the age of 23, he landed his first job in the industry, working in the architectural department of major Croydon-based residential developer, Ryeford Homes. Upon leaving Ryeford, he worked for various design and build companies, firstly as a Site Agent, running specific sites, and then as a Contracts Manager, overseeing work across multiple sites, including numerous social housing schemes. He then progressed to land acquisition, sourcing and buying land and project managing the full planning process.
In 2012, Pat decided to take the leap and set up his own land acquisition and property development business – Regent Land and Developments. With a lot of hard work and Pat’s network of associated professionals, the company has grown to where it is today and continues to deliver residential and mixed-use schemes in and around London and the South East. The business is currently looking to scale to deliver more single-family housing units, pivoting from its previous focus on large, flatted schemes.
“While the future looks challenging due to the current landscape, it has always been this way in the residential development industry,” says Pat. “I still love coming to work and I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. The day I lose my enthusiasm for delivering quality housing schemes for the future will be the day I retire.”
